A transparent proxy will show both your IP address and the IP address of the proxy. Transparent proxies should not be used for anonymity online. Transparent proxies are also classified as Level 3 because they offer the lowest level of anonymity.
Despite the fact that transparent proxies will leak your IP address, they are still useful to many people. Some websites only check the immediate IP address shown (the one actually performing the web request, which would be the proxy) and do not check for the HTTP_FORWARDED_FOR flag, which contains your actual IP address.
Level 1 anonymity (also called high anonymous or elite) proxies hide your IP and hide the fact that you are using a proxy.
Level 2 anonymity (or just anonymous) proxies hide your IP but it can be detected that you are using a proxy.
Level 3 anonymity (transparent) proxies will leak your real IP address and the IP of the proxy.
